Cottage and Camping
As soon as I finished up work on Friday, I loaded up the car and headed up the valley. First stop was Pat’s cottage.
Since my last visit there, a lot has changed; his parents built themselves a retirement home, they did a ton of landscaping and added an Air Nautique to their list of cottage toys.

After a fun night of drinking, we got up early and hit the water. I got a in a quick wakeboard and surf set, then had to pack up and continue on my way.

Next stop was Bark Lake, where I met up with my family for some camping. We setup our tents, then went exploring the the shoreline of the island. Close to our campsite I found a cool sandbar that was covered with drift wood. I convinced my brother to help me move some of it around and make a feature that I could slide on my wakeboard. I hit it a few times before the sun set, then headed back to the campsite for dinner.

Sunday morning I started packing for the trip back to the city. We left the campsite early afternoon, hit up a chip truck along the way and arrived back in Ottawa early evening.
All and all, it was a really fun weekend and I can’t wait to get back to cottage country soon.
